How Our Program Works

01

Take Quiz

Answer a few quick questions about your (or your child's) food allergies so we can see if drops are a fit.

02

Speak With A Specialist

A one-on-one session about your allergies. We walk through your treatment options, answer every question, and show you the most affordable way to get tested and treated.

You'll leave the call knowing your options, whether drops are a fit, and the lowest-cost path to testing and treatment. Already tested? Bring your results and we'll review them together.

03

Treat

An allergist reviews your results by video and writes your personalized prescription. Then it's two minutes of drops a day, at home, to retrain your immune system.

Drops made for your allergens ship to your door every three months. Your care team checks in every 2-3 months to raise your dose as your tolerance builds.

04

Graduate

Live without the fear of accidental exposure. After 3-5 years, you take a supervised food challenge with confidence, knowing your risk of a severe reaction is greatly reduced.

Your food challenge is supervised by an allergist at one of our Centers of Excellence. Afterward, maintenance drops keep your tolerance strong. Not quite ready? You simply keep building.

Not Sure What You're Allergic To? Get Tested.

Your treatment starts with knowing exactly what triggers your reactions. We help you get a simple blood test that pinpoints your food allergens.

  • FDA-cleared ImmunoCAP blood test

The IgE test allergists rely on. It measures how your immune system responds to specific foods to identify your triggers.

  • Typically covered by insurance

Testing through our lab partners is usually covered. What you pay depends on your copay and co-insurance.

  • No insurance? No problem.

We accept FSA/HSA payments and offer a discounted self-pay price through our lab partners.

Medical Director, Board-Certified Allergist & Immunologist

Dr. Tharpe oversees Curex's clinical protocols for sublingual immunotherapy and reviews patient treatment plans. He has spent more than 15 years treating allergic rhinitis, asthma and environmental sensitivities, and is a published voice in at-home allergen immunotherapy. In 2026 he led two peer-reviewed real-world studies of telemedicine-delivered SLIT: an outcomes study of 2,897 patients in Frontiers in Allergy, and a safety study of 13,584 patients across 18,398 patient-years in Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology.

"Sublingual immunotherapy lets us retrain the immune system with small, steady doses at home, every single day. That consistency is what drives results, and our safety data across thousands of patients is why I'm confident putting it in families' hands."Dr. Chet Tharpe, Medical Director
How SLIT works

From One Drop to Real Tolerance

Follow a single dose from the bottle to the moment it matters most.

Curex allergy drops
Two minutes a day. That's the whole routine.
  1. What's inside?

    Made from your allergens

Pharmaceutical-grade extracts of the foods you react to, compounded by Allergychoices to your test results. All of them in one formula.

  2. Am I eating the food?

    No. Just a measured micro-dose

You hold a few drops under your tongue. The amount is far smaller than any bite of food, which is why it can be taken safely at home.

  3. What do they do in my body?

    Your immune system relearns

Immune cells under the tongue pick up the allergen and send a calm signal instead of an alarm. Over months, your body shifts its response:

Less IgE, the antibodies that trigger reactionsMore IgG4, the antibodies that block them
  4. Is there proof?

    Backed by research and results

A UNC School of Medicine review found clinically significant desensitization to peanut SLIT in children ages 1-11. Across Curex programs, 50,000+ patients have been treated and 94% report improvement.

  5. What will feel different?

An accidental bite stops being an emergency

It takes more of the food to set off a reaction, and reactions tend to be milder. The fear of a hidden ingredient starts to fade.

Your questions, answered

Daily sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) drops, taken under the tongue at home. Every bottle is custom-formulated by Allergychoices to your test results, and doses rise gradually under Curex allergist supervision, teaching real tolerance one small exposure at a time.
Yes. We treat children from age 2 as well as adults, and a large share of our food-allergy members are kids. Sublingual drops suit children well: there are no injections and no clinic visits, the daily dose takes about two minutes under the tongue, and a parent can give it at home. Children are screened by a physician and supervised exactly as adults are, with dose increases made by the clinical team. Under 2, we are not able to enrol yet.
SLIT has one of the gentlest safety profiles in allergy treatment, which is why it can be taken at home. Doses are microscopic, escalation is gradual, and every patient is screened and supervised by a physician throughout, with an emergency action plan in place. Side effects are usually mild and local, like brief itching under the tongue. Your clinician reviews all of this with you before the first dose.
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Sublingual immunotherapy is desensitization: it trains the immune system to tolerate gradually larger exposures, with the goal of protecting against accidental contact and expanding what daily life can safely include. Epinephrine remains part of every food allergy plan, before, during, and after treatment.
Because retraining an immune system is a biological process, not a purchase. Tolerance is built through thousands of small, safe, rising exposures. The program ends with a covered, physician-supervised Oral Food Challenge that proves the progress.
Oral immunotherapy (OIT) delivers doses by eating the allergen, usually with repeated in-clinic escalation visits and observation hours. SLIT delivers micro-doses under the tongue at home, with a gentler side-effect profile and physician supervision by telehealth. For many families the honest difference is practical: SLIT is the protocol you can actually sustain for three years.
A private 30-minute telehealth consultation where a clinician reviews your qualifier answers and allergy history and determines whether your case is a fit for this month's intake. If your case is not selected for the program, 50% of the consultation fee is refunded.
Adults and children ages 2 and up. Beyond age, acceptance requires physician screening: allergy history, testing results, and overall health picture all factor in. Some cases are not a fit, and we will tell you so directly. The 60-second qualifier is the first filter; a Curex clinician makes the final call.
