For some people, yes, though dog allergy immunotherapy is less well-evidenced than cat immunotherapy. A 2016 review (Smith & Coop, Ann Allergy Asthma Immunol) found that 40 years of dog AIT research had not produced reproducible clinical evidence of effectiveness, largely because dog allergen extracts are poorly standardized. Nevertheless, dog AIT may benefit individual patients when sensitization is confirmed and treatment is allergist-supervised. For a Bulldog household, active fold hygiene, environmental control, and immunotherapy together — rather than any single measure alone — offer the most realistic path to sustained comfort. A typical course runs three to five years. Outcomes vary and it is not a cure.
