  • If you experience any severe signs such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, a rapid or weak pulse, severe dizziness, or loss of consciousness, you need to call an ambulance immediately (911 or your local emergency number).
 

Ensure Patient Safety

 
  • Have the patient lie down and remain calm. Elevate the legs if there is any sign of shock, unless breathing is compromised.
  • If the patient has been prescribed an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen), administer it as directed.
  • Remove any remaining Gatorade or trigger substance to prevent further exposure.
 

Monitor and Prepare for Medical Assistance

 
  • Continuously monitor the patient's breathing and responsiveness.
  • If symptoms do not improve promptly after using epinephrine, or if they worsen, prepare for rapid transport to the nearest emergency facility.
