What is Hershey’s Kisses: Overview

Milk

  • This chocolate is made with milk and milk products, which are common allergens for individuals with milk protein sensitivities or lactose intolerance.
  • Even small amounts can trigger reactions, so those allergic to dairy should avoid these chocolates.

Soy Lecithin

  • Soy lecithin is used as an emulsifier to improve texture and extend shelf life, but it is a soy derivative that can cause reactions in allergic individuals.
  • People with soy allergies should consider this ingredient when choosing chocolate products.

Peanuts

  • Hershey’s Kisses are produced in facilities that may also handle peanuts, leading to possible cross-contamination even if peanuts are not an intended ingredient.
  • This can be risky for people with severe peanut allergies and should be taken into account.

Tree Nuts

  • Similar to peanuts, trace amounts of tree nuts can be present due to shared manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Even if nuts are not directly added, cross-contact may cause issues for those with tree nut allergies.

Wheat/Gluten

  • While Hershey’s Kisses do not necessarily contain wheat as a primary ingredient, facilities may process wheat-containing products.
  • This can lead to trace amounts of gluten, posing concerns for individuals with wheat allergies or celiac disease.

Eggs

  • Eggs may not be a direct ingredient in the classic milk chocolate formula, but may be present in the production environment if processed alongside other products.
  • Those with egg allergies should be cautious due to the potential, albeit low, risk of cross-contact.

Hershey’s Kisses Allergy Emergency: What to Do Fast

Immediate Action: Call Emergency Services

  • If you observe any signs of a severe allergic reaction—such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, rapid heartbeat, or loss of consciousness—call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not delay.

Administer Emergency Medication

  • If the individual has a prescribed epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen), use it immediately following the instructions provided by the healthcare provider. This can be life-saving while waiting for emergency responders.

Monitor and Support

  • Stay with the person and keep them in a comfortable position. Monitor their breathing and be prepared to perform CPR if they lose consciousness.
  • If symptoms worsen rapidly, provide details of the exposure (e.g., ingestion of Hershey’s Kisses containing potential allergens) to the emergency responders when they arrive.

Follow-Up Medical Evaluation

  • Even if symptoms begin to improve after administering epinephrine, a follow-up visit to the emergency department is necessary. Allergic reactions can trigger biphasic responses, meaning symptoms may recur.
  • Advise the individual to inform their doctor about the reaction so that appropriate allergy testing and management plans can be put in place for future safety.

FAQ

How fast does the Quickie Nasal Spray work?

Most patients feel relief within 15 minutes. We have both short-term relief ingredients as well as longer-term relief to keep you feeling better, longer. Some say it’s like turning off their allergies.

What symptoms does the Nasal Spray treat?

Sneezing runny nose, nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, sinus pressure, itchy nose. Great for outdoor allergies, indoor dust, or when pollen spikes unexpectedly.

Will it cause rebound congestion like Afrin?

No, this formula uses a microdose of oxymetazoline, balanced with anti-inflammatory and moisturizing ingredients to reduce the risk of rebound congestion. Clinical studies over the last decade show that when oxymetazoline is combined with a corticosteroid, it can be used safely over the long term without causing rebound symptoms.

What’s the difference between this and over-the-counter sprays?

Quickie Spray combines up to five prescription-strength ingredients into a single, personalized formula — targeting multiple symptoms like congestion, post-nasal drip, and inflammation. OTC sprays typically address just one symptom and lack the synergy of a customized blend.

Does it have a bad taste or drip down the throat?

Some ingredients like azelastine may cause a slight taste, but many patients find it milder than traditional OTC sprays. Proper spray technique (head forward, not tilted back) helps minimize drip.We also offer an alternative formulation with olopatadine, which has a gentler taste profile and may be preferred by taste-sensitive patients.

Can I use it with my other allergy meds?

Quickie is designed to replace most other allergy medications. But it is designed to compliment allergy immunotherapy for long-term relief. If you’re currently taking other antihistamines or nasal sprays, tell your Curex provider, so we can adjust your formula to avoid overlap or interactions.

Is this FDA-approved?

No, Quickie is a personalized compounded prescription prepared by licensed U.S. pharmacies based on your doctor’s evaluation. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as commercial products, but they are regulated under federal and state pharmacy laws.

Are there any side effects?

Possible side effects include nasal dryness, mild irritation, or occasional nosebleeds. These are typically mild and manageable. Let your Curex provider know about any bothersome or serious effects, so we can fine-tune your prescription if needed.

How long should I use it for?

Quickie is safe for daily use, especially during the first 3–6 months of allergy immunotherapy, when symptoms are still active. Your Curex provider may adjust your dose or frequency as your immune system builds tolerance.

Will it make me drowsy?

Quickie is designed to be non-sedating, so you can use it before work, school, or exercise without feeling groggy or foggy. In rare cases where drowsiness is reported, let your Curex provider know—we can easily adjust the formula to better suit your needs.

Can my child use Quickie Nasal Spray?

Yes, Quickie Spray can be prescribed for children aged 6 and up, based on your provider’s clinical evaluation.

How often should I use it?

Follow the instructions from your Curex provider. Most patients are advised to use one spray per nostril, twice daily — morning and evening — for consistent relief.
