  • Milk proteins, such as casein and whey, are common allergens found in dairy ingredients used in pies, custards, and other creamy fillings.
  • Reactions can range from mild to severe for individuals with a milk allergy.

Eggs

  • Egg proteins are essential for binding and structure in baked goods, making them a common ingredient in pie crusts and custards.
  • Egg allergies can lead to symptoms ranging from skin reactions to digestive distress.

Wheat

  • Wheat is primarily a source of gluten, which is used in crusts and doughs resulting in a risk for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease.
  • Even small amounts can trigger severe allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

Soy

  • It is a well-recognized allergen that may cause reactions in susceptible individuals.

Peanuts

  • While not a primary ingredient, cross-contamination in manufacturing processes is a concern.

  • Tree nuts such as almonds, walnuts, and pecans may be included in certain dessert recipes or as garnish, posing a risk to those with tree nut allergies.

Marie Callender’s Allergy Emergency: What to Do Fast

Immediate Ambulance Required

  • If the patient shows any signs of severe allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or loss of consciousness, immediately dial 911 (or your local emergency number) to get an ambulance. Delaying can be life-threatening, as these are warning signs of anaphylaxis.

Administer Epinephrine

  • If the patient has a prescribed epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen), administer it immediately. Follow the instructions on the device, and do not hesitate if symptoms are rapidly escalating.

Monitor the Patient Closely

  • Keep the patient in a comfortable position, ideally lying flat with legs elevated, unless breathing is difficult. Continually reassess their condition while waiting for emergency services.
  • If symptoms do not improve or worsen, ensure that emergency responders are informed of the previous reactions and treatment steps taken.

Prepare for Additional Support

  • If available, have someone else help monitor the patient’s vital signs, such as pulse and breathing. Even if the epinephrine stabilizes the condition, follow up with emergency care, as further medical interventions might be necessary.

Post-Emergency Follow-Up

nbsp;
  • After the acute event, ensure the patient seeks further evaluation from an allergist or emergency department to review their allergy management plan and consider adjustments to avoid future incidents.

FAQ

How fast does the Quickie Nasal Spray work?

Most patients feel relief within 15 minutes. We have both short-term relief ingredients as well as longer-term relief to keep you feeling better, longer. Some say it’s like turning off their allergies.

What symptoms does the Nasal Spray treat?

Sneezing runny nose, nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, sinus pressure, itchy nose. Great for outdoor allergies, indoor dust, or when pollen spikes unexpectedly.

Will it cause rebound congestion like Afrin?

No, this formula uses a microdose of oxymetazoline, balanced with anti-inflammatory and moisturizing ingredients to reduce the risk of rebound congestion. Clinical studies over the last decade show that when oxymetazoline is combined with a corticosteroid, it can be used safely over the long term without causing rebound symptoms.

What’s the difference between this and over-the-counter sprays?

Quickie Spray combines up to five prescription-strength ingredients into a single, personalized formula — targeting multiple symptoms like congestion, post-nasal drip, and inflammation. OTC sprays typically address just one symptom and lack the synergy of a customized blend.

Does it have a bad taste or drip down the throat?

Some ingredients like azelastine may cause a slight taste, but many patients find it milder than traditional OTC sprays. Proper spray technique (head forward, not tilted back) helps minimize drip.We also offer an alternative formulation with olopatadine, which has a gentler taste profile and may be preferred by taste-sensitive patients.

Can I use it with my other allergy meds?

Quickie is designed to replace most other allergy medications. But it is designed to compliment allergy immunotherapy for long-term relief. If you’re currently taking other antihistamines or nasal sprays, tell your Curex provider, so we can adjust your formula to avoid overlap or interactions.

Is this FDA-approved?

No, Quickie is a personalized compounded prescription prepared by licensed U.S. pharmacies based on your doctor’s evaluation. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as commercial products, but they are regulated under federal and state pharmacy laws.

Are there any side effects?

Possible side effects include nasal dryness, mild irritation, or occasional nosebleeds. These are typically mild and manageable. Let your Curex provider know about any bothersome or serious effects, so we can fine-tune your prescription if needed.

How long should I use it for?

Quickie is safe for daily use, especially during the first 3–6 months of allergy immunotherapy, when symptoms are still active. Your Curex provider may adjust your dose or frequency as your immune system builds tolerance.

Will it make me drowsy?

Quickie is designed to be non-sedating, so you can use it before work, school, or exercise without feeling groggy or foggy. In rare cases where drowsiness is reported, let your Curex provider know—we can easily adjust the formula to better suit your needs.

Can my child use Quickie Nasal Spray?

Yes, Quickie Spray can be prescribed for children aged 6 and up, based on your provider’s clinical evaluation.

How often should I use it?

Follow the instructions from your Curex provider. Most patients are advised to use one spray per nostril, twice daily — morning and evening — for consistent relief.
