What is Pepsi: Overview

Caramel Color

  • Description: Derived from heated sugars, caramel color may contain trace amounts of sulfites, which can trigger allergic-like responses in especially sensitive individuals.

Caffeine

  • Description: Although naturally occurring in many beverages, caffeine can cause adverse reactions such as jitters or headaches in individuals with caffeine sensitivity.

Citric Acid

  • Description: Used for flavor balance, citric acid may induce irritation or mild allergic-like symptoms in people with hypersensitivity towards acidic components.

Phosphoric Acid

  • Description: Added to provide tartness, phosphoric acid might lead to discomfort or rare sensitivity reactions in those with acid-related sensitivities.

Natural Flavors

  • Description: The blend of natural flavorings may include ingredients derived from various sources, and in extremely rare cases, can provoke reactions if an individual is allergic to one of the source components.

High Fructose Corn Syrup

Pepsi Allergy Emergency: What to Do Fast

Assess the Situation Immediately

  • If you or someone else shows signs of severe allergic reaction—such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, a rapid or weak pulse, dizziness, or loss of consciousness—call an ambulance immediately by dialing your local emergency number. This may indicate anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition.
  • Even if the reaction currently appears mild, symptoms can escalate rapidly. It is crucial to seek professional help to ensure safety.

Administer Immediate First Aid

  • If an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen) is available and previously prescribed to you, use it right away as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Help the affected person to lie down in a position that eases breathing—often on their back with legs elevated—unless there is difficulty breathing, in which case sitting up may be preferable.
  • Keep the person as calm and still as possible. Monitor their condition closely until emergency medical services arrive.

Contact Emergency Services

  • Request emergency medical assistance immediately, explaining that the reaction might be due to an allergy to Pepsi or a component of it.
  • Provide precise details about the situation, including any known allergies, the time of exposure, and any steps already taken.

Prepare for Further Medical Management

  • If symptoms are controlled temporarily with an epinephrine injection, do not delay; medical evaluation in a hospital setting is essential since symptoms can reoccur.
  • Inform the medical team about any medications administered and the history of the allergic reaction. Clear communication can guide further treatment.

Follow Up

  • After stabilization, consult an allergist for detailed evaluation to confirm the allergy and discuss long-term prevention strategies, including avoidance techniques and carrying emergency medication.
  • Consider wearing medical identification that indicates known allergies to assist medical personnel in any future emergencies.

Yes, Pepsi by PepsiCo is generally considered vegan-friendly as it contains no animal-derived ingredients. However, some flavored varieties may contain non-vegan additives, so it's best to check specific product labels.
Pepsi contains approximately 38 mg of caffeine per 12 fl oz (355 ml) can.
Pepsi contains high levels of sugar, which can cause blood sugar spikes and is generally not recommended for diabetics. Diet or zero-sugar versions may be safer but should still be consumed in moderation due to artificial sweeteners and potential effects on insulin sensitivity. FAQ

How fast does the Quickie Nasal Spray work?

Most patients feel relief within 15 minutes. We have both short-term relief ingredients as well as longer-term relief to keep you feeling better, longer. Some say it’s like turning off their allergies.

What symptoms does the Nasal Spray treat?

Sneezing runny nose, nasal congestion, post-nasal drip, sinus pressure, itchy nose. Great for outdoor allergies, indoor dust, or when pollen spikes unexpectedly.

Will it cause rebound congestion like Afrin?

No, this formula uses a microdose of oxymetazoline, balanced with anti-inflammatory and moisturizing ingredients to reduce the risk of rebound congestion. Clinical studies over the last decade show that when oxymetazoline is combined with a corticosteroid, it can be used safely over the long term without causing rebound symptoms.

What’s the difference between this and over-the-counter sprays?

Quickie Spray combines up to five prescription-strength ingredients into a single, personalized formula — targeting multiple symptoms like congestion, post-nasal drip, and inflammation. OTC sprays typically address just one symptom and lack the synergy of a customized blend.

Does it have a bad taste or drip down the throat?

Some ingredients like azelastine may cause a slight taste, but many patients find it milder than traditional OTC sprays. Proper spray technique (head forward, not tilted back) helps minimize drip.We also offer an alternative formulation with olopatadine, which has a gentler taste profile and may be preferred by taste-sensitive patients.

Can I use it with my other allergy meds?

Quickie is designed to replace most other allergy medications. But it is designed to compliment allergy immunotherapy for long-term relief. If you’re currently taking other antihistamines or nasal sprays, tell your Curex provider, so we can adjust your formula to avoid overlap or interactions.

Is this FDA-approved?

No, Quickie is a personalized compounded prescription prepared by licensed U.S. pharmacies based on your doctor’s evaluation. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as commercial products, but they are regulated under federal and state pharmacy laws.

Are there any side effects?

Possible side effects include nasal dryness, mild irritation, or occasional nosebleeds. These are typically mild and manageable. Let your Curex provider know about any bothersome or serious effects, so we can fine-tune your prescription if needed.

How long should I use it for?

Quickie is safe for daily use, especially during the first 3–6 months of allergy immunotherapy, when symptoms are still active. Your Curex provider may adjust your dose or frequency as your immune system builds tolerance.

Will it make me drowsy?

Quickie is designed to be non-sedating, so you can use it before work, school, or exercise without feeling groggy or foggy. In rare cases where drowsiness is reported, let your Curex provider know—we can easily adjust the formula to better suit your needs.

Can my child use Quickie Nasal Spray?

Yes, Quickie Spray can be prescribed for children aged 6 and up, based on your provider’s clinical evaluation.

How often should I use it?

Follow the instructions from your Curex provider. Most patients are advised to use one spray per nostril, twice daily — morning and evening — for consistent relief.
