Assess Severity Immediately

 
  • If you observe symptoms such as severe difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, a rapid drop in blood pressure, or loss of consciousness, this is a life‐threatening reaction. Call emergency services (911 or your country’s equivalent) immediately.
  • If these severe symptoms are present, DO NOT WAIT—an ambulance is needed right away.
 

Administer Epinephrine (If Prescribed)

 
  • If the affected individual has a known severe allergy and carries an epinephrine auto-injector (e.g., EpiPen), use it immediately at the first sign of a reaction.
  • Follow the auto-injector instructions carefully, and then call for emergency medical support even if the symptoms seem to subside.
 

Monitor and Provide Basic Support

 
  • Keep the patient calm and in a comfortable position—ideally lying down with the legs elevated, unless breathing is compromised.
  • Continuously monitor their breathing and responsiveness. If the patient becomes unresponsive or their condition deteriorates further, prepare to perform CPR if trained.
 

Inform Medical Professionals

 
  • When emergency responders arrive, inform them explicitly that the reaction may be linked to Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry, including any known details of the ingestion.
  • Share any relevant medical history or details regarding allergies with the medical team to aid in swift, appropriate treatment.
